The Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA) announced on the 16th that it is participating in the Thailand Space Expo 2025 (TSX 2025) held from October 16 to 18 in Bangkok, Thailand, where it is operating the Korean Pavilion to support the entry of domestic space companies into the ASEAN market and to promote global cooperation.

The Thailand Space Expo, hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), is one of Southeast Asia’s leading space industry exhibitions. It brings together representatives from government agencies, research institutes, academia, and industry to share the latest technologies and trends and to discuss opportunities for collaboration.

Through its participation, KASA aims to expand the foundation for international cooperation in the space sector with major ASEAN countries, support Korean companies’ overseas expansion, and extend economic diplomacy into the field of science and technology exchange.

The Korean Pavilion features six domestic space companies—Leospace, Space & Bean, Space Beam, SPEQ, PCN, and Telepix—showcasing technologies across various areas such as satellite development, payloads and components, satellite data analysis, and data management systems. In addition to the exhibition, participating companies are engaging in one-on-one business meetings with local institutions and firms to explore technology collaboration, joint projects, and potential market entry opportunities.

Separtely, Naraspace, Spacemap, and Cosmobi are operating independent booths to seek collaboration opportunities in areas including small satellite development and operation, satellite data services, space situational awareness (SSA), and satellite propulsion systems.

Lee Jae-hyung, Director-General for Planning and Coordination at KASA, stated,

“The Thailand Space Expo will serve as an important starting point for Korean space companies to make full-fledged inroads into the ASEAN market. KASA will continue to strengthen public-private cooperation to support companies’ overseas expansion and broaden strategic alliances with ASEAN countries.”

[이뉴스투데이 김재한 항공·방산 전문기자] 우주항공청이 16일부터 18일까지 태국 방콕에서 열리는 ‘태국 우주엑스포 2025(Thailand Space eXpo, TSX 2025)’에 참가해 한국관을 운영하고 국내 우주기업의 아세안 시장 진출과 글로벌 협력 확대를 지원한다고 16일 밝혔다.

태국 우주엑스포는 태국의 고등교육과학연구혁신부(MHESI)와 지리정보우주기술개발청(GISTDA) 주관으로 열리는 동남아시아 대표 우주산업 전시회로, 지역내 정부기관·연구기관·학계·산업계 관계자들이 한자리에 모여 최신 기술과 산업 동향을 공유하고 협력 방안을 논의하는 자리다.

우주청은 이번 태국 우주엑스포 참가를 통해 아세안 주요국과 우주 분야의 국제협력 기반을 넓히고 국내 기업의 해외 진출을 지원하여 경제외교를 과학기술 교류로 확장하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

이번 한국관에는 레오스페이스, 스페이스앤빈, 스페이스빔, 스펙스, 피씨엔, 텔레픽스 등 6개 국내 우주기업이 참여해 위성개발, 위성 탑재체·부품, 위성 데이터 분석, 데이터 관리 시스템 등 다양한 분야의 기술을 선보인다. 참가기업들은 전시와 함께 현지 기관 및 기업들과의 1:1 비즈니스 상담을 통해 기술 협력과 공동 프로젝트 발굴 등 구체적 협력 방안을 논의하고 현지 시장진출 가능성을 타진한다.

이와 별도로 나라스페이스, 스페이스맵 및 코스모비는 독립 부스를 운영하며, 각각 초소형위성 개발·운용 및 위성데이터 서비스, 우주상황인식(Space Situational Awareness, SSA), 위성 추진체 등을 중심으로 현지 협력 기회를 모색한다.

이재형 우주청 기획조정관은 “태국우주엑스포는 한국 우주기업이 아세안 시장에 본격 진출하는 중요한 출발점이 될 것”이라며 “우주청은 민관 협력을 강화해 기업의 해외 진출을 지속 지원하고, 아세안 국가들과의 전략적 연대를 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
